BASALT HEAT-INSULATED CORDS
Technical Specifications ÒÓ Ó 88.023.017-94 (Without restriction of validity).
Basalt heat-insulated cords (BHC) consists of a core produced from basalt ultra-and superthin
fibers and a braid of a core roving from basalt glass complex filaments or glass filaments.
Basalt heat-insulated cord - the highly effective material intended for thermal isolation of
units, pipelines and heat-conducting systems of the general and special purpose in various
branches of a national economy.
Cords are nontoxical also fireproof, a range of working temperatures:
— With shield from glass filaments - 260 °Ñ + 450 °Ñ;
— With shield from basalt roving - 260 °Ñ + 700 °Ñ
Depending on diameter cords share for the marks resulted in tab. 13. Under the order
of the consumer release of cords with other diameters is possible.
Diameters of cords

Mark | Diameter,mm | Limit deviation, mm |
BHC-6 | 6 | ±1 |
BHC-10 | 10 | ±2 |
BHC-20 | 20 | ±2 |
BHC-30 | 30 | ±3 |
BHC-40 | 40 | ±3 |
Physicotechnical characteristics of cords should meet the requirements, resulted in tab. 14.

Heat conductivity of cords, W / (m?Ê) should be no more, at:
ïðè 298 Ê (25 °Ñ) — 0,055
ïðè 398 Ê (125 °Ñ) — 0,072
ïðè 573 Ê (300 °Ñ) — 0,1
Sorption humidity of cords should be no more than 2 %. The Mass fraction of ions of
chlorine in a cord should be no more than 0,03 %, and leachability (in recalculation on Na2O),
at the area of 300 sm2 - no more than 5 mg.
Cords should be flexible, without breaks and stratifications. Materials which are applied
to manufacturing cords, do not give in thermal destruction and do not allocate harmful substances
under action of physical factors (temperature, ultra-violet and other kinds of radiations, etc.).
